Baseball and Softball Field Improvements
Riviera Independent School District
The School District wanted to create a premier baseball and softball complex that could serve their needs and be a destination for tournaments and playoffs for the South Texas region.
The Baseball Field scope of work consists of new concession building with a press box above, restroom facilities, storage, ticket booth and pro-style sunken dugouts. Also included are bleachers which are designed integral with the concession and restroom buildings. The bleacher risers are cast in place concrete with ergonomic, individual seating. All baseball bleacher seating is covered to shade spectators from the brutal South Texas sun. Provisions were made for Owner-furnished high volume-low velocity big fans to hang above the seating. Restroom and concession facilities are sized to also serve the adjacent football field.
Softball Field scope of work consists of re-purposing an existing maintenance building into a concession, storage and restroom facility serving only the softball field as well as pro-style sunken dugouts. Due to space limitations, permanent concrete riser-style bleachers could not be built so concrete paved semi-permanent bleacher pads were designed for a pre-fabricated aluminum bleacher system.
Both fields received new masonry backstop walls and tensioned mesh netting that extends past the seating to protect spectators from foul balls and errant throws.
This was designed as the main entry for the new baseball field and the existing football/track facility
